Vacation Time

We went from the heat of Texas to the cool coast. We went to San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle, Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Monterey and San Francisco. I had experienced this trip once before as a child with my own family. I had forgotten that lovely ride on hwy 1. Maybe because I was always doped with Dramamene and sleeping in the back of the station wagon. After taking that drive again - I understand why my parents did what they did. I never have grown out of motion sickness.

The kids got to go Quad running for the first time on Pismo Beach. The Kayaked with the Seals and Otters in Monterey and experienced the thrill of the hills in San Fransico. We also took a tour of Alcatraz prison.

One of the highlights of the trip to SF was meeting up with an old friend, Michele. She spent a day with us in golden gate park with he littlest one, Eric. He was an absolutte delight.

It was a wonderful 9 days of family togetherness and in the end we were all happy we had gone. The dogs were glad to see us - that's for sure!

Family Reunion

The Porter's attended a family reunion - in Arlington Texas. We spent 5 days with Adam's father's side of the family - getting to know one another - walking down memory lane - and having a few laughs.

The kids certainly enjoyed themselves. They got to know there cousins and have some major bonding time. We spent one day at Six Flags Over Texas. Neither Lauren or Jordan are rollercoaster fans - good thing there was other things to do. It was an experience when the lightning came and all the rides closed down for a while.

Thank you, Lorenzo and Lana for putting on such a wonderful reunion and your Texas hospitality!
